LEADERSHIP

T. J. Connolly
President & CEO

As President and CEO, T. J. Connolly focuses on business development and client services. He takes a hands-on approach with all public relations client accounts as well as an active interest in the advertising process. Connolly is the lead negotiator in all media buys.

Connolly’s areas of expertise in public relations, media relations, and corporate image management have been honed during his series of prior career steps. Prior to opening the firm in 1998, Connolly spent nearly a decade as vice president of public affairs at Time Warner Cable. Readily recognizable as the public spokesperson and television talk show host for the cable system (then known as Paragon Cable); Connolly oversaw 30 franchise agreements with cities in the greater San Antonio metropolitan area. His staff of 30 also supervised departments including legal, public affairs, and served as liaisons to all governmental entities. In 1992 and again in 1994, Connolly served as interim vice president of marketing for the cable system.

In addition to his duties at Time Warner, in 1991, Texas Governor Ann Richards appointed Connolly as Chairman of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, a post he held until 1995. When allegations of financial mismanagement and personal misconduct surfaced at VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority, San Antonio’s public transportation company in 1995, Connolly was named interim board chair by then-San Antonio Mayor Nelson Wolff. Connolly’s leadership paved the way for major reform at the bus company and led to Connolly being named “Outstanding Young San Antonian” by the San Antonio Jaycees that same year. During the prior year, Connolly was named to “ San Antonio’s 40 Under 40” by the San Antonio Business Journal.

Before joining Time Warner in 1989, Connolly spent five years as director of corporate relations for Benson Management Company, Tom Benson’s holding company, overseeing 30 automobile dealerships, five banks and the NFL franchise, the New Orleans Saints.

Connolly, a long-time resident of San Antonio, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 1985.

T. J. considers his greatest accomplishments to be his two beautiful daughters Olivia and Alexa, and son Andy.
